Hold Your Horses ... but let the birds free

As part of the build up to the Grand Opera 'Hold Your Horses' from Artistic Director Serge Verstockt, we will produce a series of concerts in the 'cyclists tunnel' (close to Petroleum Zuid) in Antwerp. Each concert will be filmed, and due to it's unique location and odd acoustics, the tunnel and these concerts will play an interesting part in the performances of Hold Your Horses which will be debuted in deSingel on the 22nd of May, 2013.

A swarm of (mechanical) birds, together with the deep drones of electric guitars combine sublimely with the earthly bass notes of the Tibetan horns.  (Performers include: Serge Verstockt, Takao Hyakutome, Ann Eysermans en Thomas Moore). The public will also be expected to take part. The birds will need to be encouraged into song.

As part of the yearly festival '24 hours of podium' on the 12th and the 13th of January, 2013, there will be three performances of this piece. :

12 January 2013 : 22:20 – 22:40

?13 januari 2013 : 03:00 – 03:20 /  8:30 -8:50
